note: DO NOT TRY THIS if you are not comfortable working
with the
folders that are within the Library folder. You can very
easily make
things much worse. That said ...
Every since I allowed Software Update to install Quicktime
7.1, I
have had a series problems including all my QT movies have
had the
video out of sync with the audio (which was running
perfectly).
Other people have had startup problems. Some have fixed
their
problems by removing Flip4Mac WMV (a Quicktime plug-in that
replaces
Windows Media Player and allows QT to play WMV files) and
its
associated files.
This did not work for me.
I went back and removed Quicktime 7.1 and its associated
files, then
emptied the trash.
I then downloaded the Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer,
ran it and
reinstalled Quicktime 7.1.
After I put my Quicktime 7 Pro serial number in the
registration
screen, all worked like a charm.
