When you are "wait + join" you can not return
:-(

I also think one of them (wait or join) should return to let
us do some
operation while the call is transferred if we want even the
timeslot are
connected together.

However you can play a file while waiting, to have music on
hold while
transferring a call.

Not sure what you where up to.

Do you mean Bayonne 1 or 2, and circuit switched or SIP? 
The most 
generic way to accomplish this is to make a second call leg
on another 
session, and then "join" them (using the new
connect statement in 
Bayonne 2).  You can also, for analog lines, hook flash,
emit some dtmf,

and remain in the call session, without using a second call
session, or 
for digital lines, also use the "dial" command
this way.
