Thanks for the response.
But this (I think) opens a new blank tab, which is not what
I want.  I 
like having my homepage (google) loaded in each new tab, and
I want it 
(and not the location bar) to be focused.  I just want the
location bar 
to remain blank (just like when I first start epiphany) so
that if I 
decide not to use google, I can do so easily.

Anyway, sorry if this is rehashing old arguments.

Sorry I understood it wrong. I think this is a reasonable
request. In
fact it has already been filed as
http
://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429717 . You may
want to add
yourself to the cc list of that bug.
