I seem to remember being able to do this years ago, but alas, nomore.
Ctrl-f, search for a link. Escape. Enter. This opens the link in the current viewport.
I know ctrl-enter opens in a new tab, but I miss and need pure keyboard navigation!
Thoughts? Does this still exist under a different keybinding, or is is long gone?

Ah. If you use / to find instead of ctrl-f the behavior is different. Enter visits the link you've found, shift-enter takes you back a link (the same as with normal find), but I have not found a way to skip to the next link yet.
Thoughts?

Find Next (Ctrl-G) and Find Previous (Ctrl-Shift-G)
perhaps?

Yep, that works wonderfully. Is it intuitive though? I guess we're talking about a small fringe case anyway.

Try starting search mode with the ' (apostrophe) key. It
causes the text
you enter to only be searched for in links; enter follows
the link and
ctrl+enter opens the link in a new tab.

Ctrl-G and Ctrl-Shift-G are the standard keybindings, and
available from the
Edit menu as well.
