There's a firefox plugin/addition of some sort, usually near
the address
bar, where a search term can be entered, then there's a
dropdown menu,
and google, or wikipedia, or whatever, can be searched.

does this plugin exist for epiphany?

thanks,

Thufir

No, because this functionality is built right in.

It's called Smart Bookmarks and they appear in the address
entry
dropdown when you enter something in the entry. By default,
one smart
bookmark called 'Search the Web' is included. The Epiphany
manual
describes how you can add more.

Out of curiosity, where is the manual at? I went to
<http://
www.gnome.org/projects/epiphany/documentation/> but
haven't yet found
smart bookmarks. Will keep looking

Yes, it did automagically search from the address bar, neato

Pretty neat

I even changed it from google.com to igoogle.com so that it
shows me as
logged into google, which I generally like to have setup.

working on wikipedia now...

I have a wikipedia link on the toolbar so that instead of a
drop down
menu, I just click on the wikipedia logo. Makes sense?

The link property is:

http://www
.wikipedia.org//wiki/search?q=%s

there's a search box next to the link, which is ok.
however, when I type
a search into the box, I just get wikipedia, not search
results at
wikipedia :(

That's probably because that URL is wrong.

Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=%s
(found on:

rching#Browser_specific_help)
