a secure equivalent to rcmd() and rexec() ?

not sure if this is the answer you want, but:
what if you tunnel the rcmd/rexec commands through an
encrypted tunnel? you could use pf and stunnel to redirect
traffic, maybe that helps. it's obviously not a development
solution but an administrative, maybe working one
