Antivirus to scan files before going onto a Windows machine: clamav?

Thanks everyone.

Virii would be the correct spelling we biologists use, but
viruses is
standard in normal-people-speak, and gets the meaing across.

I doubt I need to scan my entire machine, just my
/winbackup/
directory (about 10-15GB max)
