You didn't mention what brand of processor, but if you are
going AMD64, there
is a pretty good list of tested motherboards here:

I used Socket 940 Tyan myself, and am a big fan of Tyan, but
not as many tested
Socket 939 Tyan boards on the list.  You should be able to
find something that
works for you on the list though.
