Strat-Map is the Strategic Mapping Initiative in Texas.
StratMaps biggest advantage is that it promotes cooperation
among users of
geographic data. People interested in creating data, work
together by cost
sharing. The data are in the public domain so that everyone
has access to
the same material. This greatly reduces confusion and
encourages groups to
work together instead of constantly gathering (and
recreating) data on their
own.
