While too many people tend to feel this way, and affordable health insurance is a major concern among many Americans, there are low cost health insurance plans out there that can provide good coverage at a reasonable price to people struggling to make enough ends meet as it is. One of the best options is to look for a short term health insurance plan. Short term health insurance plans (also often referred to as "temporary health insurance") are specifically designed for individuals who don't have the spare income to buy a full coverage plan. There are several reasons to purchase a short term health insurance plan, including transitional periods, like graduating from college, moving, or taking a new job. A short term policy can cover you during a transitional period. Short term plans are very affordable, but part of the reason for that is that most of those plans are for major emergencies, but without any extra benefits like doctor visits or prescription medications. Short term health insurance is a great way for students that need cheap health insurance coverage to obtain coverage in an inexpensive and easy manner. That being said, this is a temporary low cost health insurance option, and should not be relied on for full coverage.
