I've revised the page, though the info regarding how to
install Freevo
on F7 is pretty much taken as it from your email, so some
things may not
be quite clear. e.g., Is the default directory for storing
configuration
files now in ~/.freevo, or is it still /etc/freevo ?

I've packaged pygoom and fmtools for FC5, you can probably
recompile the
SRPMs and put it up in your repository or Livna.

http://
freevo.sourceforge.net/fedora/5/SRPMS/

mp1e has been unavailable for a while. I didn't try
packaging it since
it's no longer released as a separate package by the
authors.

For root then the default is /etc/freevo and for non-root
users it is
~/.freevo. The lircrc path is always /etc/freevo but can be
changed in the
local_conf.py. ~/.freevo is read first even for root.
