Dear all,
I was asked by friends to make a presentation similar to the
FOSDEM 08
show at Linuxtag, and the proposal was accepted.

So, there will be a small (less than 1x1m) area to show the
Zaurus,
the Openmoko, the Acer n30 and other devices running
"embedded"
GNUstep (aka mySTEP).

Please let me know if you are interested in helping out with
booth
service (otherwise I have to be there 4 full days without a
good
chance to see other things myself) - you will get a free
entrance
ticket. If you need a hotel please let me know as well -
there may be
solutions.

Linuxtag takes place 28th-31th May in Berlin.

If you have additional ideas to promote GNUstep, please let
me know
and I can try to find out what we can do.

Nikolaus

No one wanting to share the experience of explaining the
benefits of
GNUstep to the general public?

I *might* be in Berlin around that time (probably for some
work
related stuff) but I don't know for sure. If I am in Berlin
that time
I consider extending my stay for the weekend so I possibly
could come
to Linuxtag on the 31th of May.

I was thinking about it, but Berlin is rather far from
Freiburg an I was
there just last year
Even when LinuxTag was still in Karlsruhe, which is right
around the
corner, I found it rather boring there. I may give it
another thought,
though.

LinuxTag has become a huge disappointment in the last few
years, I
wouldn't recommend to go there at all _unless_ you want to
sell (or
buy) something (literally). It just supports their (now)
fake
'where .com meets .org'. (A <1x1m booth? Common!)

The Chemnitzer LinuxTage seem to have become the proper
replacement
for what LinuxTag has been a few years ago (a large
_community_ event
where business is invited). Lets focus on something
reasonable. Maybe
we should apply for a booth next year, quite likely I would
join that
one.

Thanks,
   Helge

I mostly agree - but we have been invited, it costs just
time to be
there, and the 1x1m is part
of the "embedded and mobile" area, i.e. is part of
a much larger
booth. That is the reason
why I go there without any discussion. I am just asking if
someone
will also go there and support.

Yes! That is a good idea - in addition (I don't see a reason
why we
can't do both).
