While klaptopdaemon in kubuntu feisty does work properly, Does klaptopdaemon have the capability to suspend?
kpowersave doesn't. It works for me in debian sid, either suspend to RAM or suspend to disk. But you know, ubuntu is the unstable branch of Debian
sid (OK, OK, it was a joke. Don't hit me! I'm stopping it! :-D ). I see those possibilit ies:
1) Suspend has been implemented very recently in the kernel. Make sure to have the last kernel
2.6.22, maybe upgrading to the beta version of Ubuntu (uf, very brave) or downloading it from kernel.org. But keep your current kernel as well, just in case the new kernel doesn't work for you and you have to boot from the old one.
2) In Synaptic, go to kpowersave , right click and install the recommended and suggested packages. 3) Submit a bug in Ubuntu bugzilla, and wait until it is fixed... Suspend is a recent feature.
Hope it helps,
David
