Dear All,

We are working on a heterogeneous cluster environment at our university, & we 've the following setup:
1). Sparc machines with Debian having LAM/MPI-7.1.1-3
2). SGI machines with Gentoo having LAM/MPI- 7.0

What I am confused about is whether are there EVEN/ODD or stable/unstable numbers in LAM/MPI releases, do they matter ?

Also would the above setup be interoperable ??
Any insight on this issue would be a great help !!
Thanx in advance :/
