LAM:

Unfortunately, there is not enough information here to say
what the exact
error is.  Please see http://www.lam-
mpi.org/using/support/ for the things
to submit when you have a compile problem with LAM/MPI.

Off the top of my head, it sounds like you might be running
out of disk
quota.  If that's the case, we can't really help you --
you either need to
get more quota or compile in /tmp and install to your
quota-controlled
directory.

As for your questions about installing on multiple nodes,
check out the LAM
FAQ on the web site and the LAM installation guide -- this
topic is covered
extensively there.  Keep in mind that /tmp is typically a
local filesystem
and is not shared across machines.  You might want to
discuss this with your
local administrator to see what kinds of network resources
you have
available (they may even be able to install LAM for
you...?).
