"Just curious -- are you using InfiniBand or Myrinet?
There are
definite problems with using system() on the versions of
IB/Myri
driver stacks that LAM/MPI supports. "

I'm using InfiniBand. Curious yes. Hmm...little redesign
will be necessary i think....

Thanks

Sorry about that; it's a problem down in the kernel/driver
stacks.

Note that if you're using the IB support that comes with
LAM/MPI,
this means you're likely using an mVAPI-based IB kernel
stack. You
might want to investigate upgrading to OFED (the OpenFabrics

Enterprise Distribution IB stack). It's open source and is
where all
new work related to HPC is occurring in the IB vendor
arena.

For example: http://www.open-mpi.org/faq/?category=openfabrics#vapi-
support (note that "OpenIB" is the
older/deprecated name for the
OpenFabrics project).
