  Dear All,

I am very new in this field of cluster. Please give me details of the following queries --
1.I have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 in Four computers. In RHEL 5, Lam Mpi version 7.1.2 is available. Is it the same as 7.1.4 ?If not will this version work properly?
2. I have established the cluster by physically connecting the four nodes in LAN and I have written VI editor text file in one computer which I call head node. In this vi file ip addresses of all member nodes is written with top address as that of the head node. Is it correct? When I turn on all nodes in linux and give command on head node - shell$ lamboot filename  ,I get list of all nodes in the cluster as n0 n1 and so on. If this is wrong then pls. tell me the correct way.
3. How to test the parallel applications on such cluster? Can you send links of some standard applications which can be tested on such cluster? Please detail me the steps (commands) how to proceed for the execution of parallel application?
4. Further, how to combine two physically distant lam/mpi clusters by using Globus GT4?
Kindly guide me for the above queries. I am very much confused.

Thanks and Regards,

-Gauri.

This file contains the high points of differences between
LAM versions:

7.1.4 (and the possibly upcoming 7.1.5) have a bunch of bug
fixes
beyond 7.1.2.

Note that LAM/MPI is in maintenance mode -- all new work is
occurring
on Open MPI (www.open-mpi.org).

I can't quite parse your text to understand your question.
It sounds
like LAM is functioning properly. You might want to have a
look
through the User Guide; see the LAM/MPI web site for more
details.

See the User's Guide for some trivial test programs.

LAM has a very lame Globus integration which doesn't work
very well
and is probably very dated (we stopped active work on
LAM/MPI a few
years ago). You might need an explicitly grid-enabled MPI

implementation (such as one of the MPICH-G* variants) to
work in a
Globus environment.

Hope that helps.
