Name of Desktop folder

Hi

Is there a standard for the name of the Desktop folder?
Whichever
distribution I've seen names the Desktop folder as
"Desktop", and
any attempt I made localizing this folder with a .desktop
entry
was unsuccessful.

So what major problems (other than application specific
ones,
i.e the download folder may not be found, etc) could I face
if I
rename this folder from Desktop to Masaüstü (in Turkish)?
