Hi Gonul,
You can mark the .bin file executable and then execute it.
One way is to:
1. open up a Terminal window (from somewhere inside your KDE
desktop menu),
2. Install xdg-utils needed by the installer by executing
this command
(cut-and-paste then hit enter):
sudo apt-get install xdg-utils
3. Change directory to wherever the bin file is saved with
this command:
cd Desktop
4. Mark the bin file executable with this command (change
the bin file
name if necessary):
chmod u+x
realplay-10.1.0.3563-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin
5. Install as root user with this command (change the bin
file name if
necessary):
sudo
./realplay-10.1.0.3563-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin
Hopefully, I haven't left out some details.
Then, you should be able to execute the following command by
cut-and-paste into the Terminal window:
realplay
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/ra
dio/specials/1837_aae/rams/aae_ms_many_much_alotof_lotsof_07
0918.ram
If the above succeeded, you can, at least, click on the .ram
link in the
web page, asked by the browser which application you want to
invoke to
open the .ram file, and you should be able to type
"realplay" and
execute it. (I don't think a restart of the browser, or
reboot, is
necessary, but if you have problems, still, you can try that
and post to
player-users mailing list again.)
Thanks.
