RealPlayer 10.0.7.785 (way too) slow on Ubuntu Dapper

The RealPlayer 10 HOWTO told me to use this e-mail address,
so I send my 
question to you.

I have installed RealPlayer 10.0.7.785 (the .BIN version
from the Real 
website) on Ubuntu Dapper. Unfortunately playback is very
slow, it hangs 
every few seconds, no matter what stream I try to view. They
are all 
Real streams  (on the popular dutch site
www.uitzendinggemist.nl) and 
they play fine in mplayer. On previous Ubuntu versions I did
not have 
this problem. I've tried changing a lot of preferences, but
that doesn't 
help.
