| Plea for ipw3945 for F7 |

Hi Matthias,
I realize that iwl3945 is shipped with F7, which has
probably prompted
you not to ship ipw3945 for F7. Thing is, iwl3945 is a piece
of crap
currently and really unreliable. Any chance of building
ipw3945
packages for F7?
Thanks,
J.

I agree, iwl3945 doesn't work at all - it looses connection
after few
seconds, sometimes restarting Network Manager helps, but
more often
you need to restart your machine to get it work again. I've
downloaded
ipw3945 from atrpms.net but I don't like this repository and
would
prefer to use freshrpms version `cause version from atrpms
is kernel
specific and doesn't use dkms to install kernel module.
Thanks in advance!

I'd really like to see a freshrpms ipw3945 package too. One
thing I
like about the atrpms release is that they used version
1.2.0 (stable)
instead of 1.2.1 (unstable).

I'd really like to see a freshrpms ipw3945 package too. One thing I like about the atrpms release is that they used version 1.2.0 (stable)

I rebuilt the freshrpms from 6
[justin comatose ~]$ cat /etc/yum.repos.d/jlc.repo [jlc] name=jlc for Fedora $releasever - $basearch - jlc #baseurl=file:///home/justin/rpmbuild/RPMS
baseurl=http://www.justinconover.com/pub/fedora/7/RPMS failovermethod=priority enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 protect=0
I did remove iwl3945 and added rmmod to /etc/rc.local to keep it out.
/sbin/rmmod iwl3945

sounds like a safer option that loading then unloading iwl3945...
Dario
Because I didn't think of it ;)
