frstly i dont have any file created in the /etc directory called modprobe.conf i googled a bit and found that i could change the snd-intel values in the file called alsa-base , i dont have that file too.

What kernel are you using? What version of alsa-lib?
The latest version is 1.0.15rc2
You can check alsa site and see if the latest alsa-driver fixed something for your card:

As I told you before, maybe you just need
options snd-hda-intel model=xxx
in /etc/modprobe.conf
