Switching keyboard layout error...

Hi to all!
In my livecd, i am using gnome-light package; In the control
center, i tried
to switch the keyboard layout cause the one used during the
boot, doesn't
work with symbol like ,#, ecc..
When doing so, i got this error:

Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
 - a bug in libxklavier library
 - a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
 - X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

 X server version data:
 The X.Org Foundation
 70000000

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
 - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
 - The result of gconftool-2 -R
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd

Anyone got an idea about how can i solve this?

Some info on my livecd-stage2.spec:
subarch: i686
target: livecd-stage2
rel_type: default
profile: default-linux/x86/2006.0
snapshot: 20060814

livecd/fstype: squashfs
livecd/cdtar:
/usr/lib/catalyst/livecd/cdtar/isolinux-3.09-memtest86+-cdta
r.tar.bz2
livecd/xdm: gdm
livecd/xsession: icewm
livecd/gk_mainargs: --lvm2 --evms2 --unionfs-dev
boot/kernel/gentoo/use: pcmcia usb oss atm

Thanks
Luca

There's a certain point where just because it's a problem
you encounter with a
CD built with catalyst, it's not an issue for this list.
This is probably past
that point, but I'll help anyway.

It's likely that you don't have a complete X on your CD.
What do you have in
your livecd/packages? Also, why would you think the contents
of your
livecd-stage2.spec would be helpful? All the gnome/X stuff
is emerged in
livecd-stage1.

I found this on gentoo forum:
http
://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-462175.html

But I should do this using chroot...is this the only
solution?

Thanks
Luca
