setting ifconfig_nve0="DHCP" doesn't seem to affect my boot up.  I
still have to manually start dhclient, even though once finished I

can't seem to ping the outside world.

if you do an ifconfig -a nve0 is the interface setup correctly? are the subnet, broadcast and network addresses all correct?
