Although it says fatal I believe it's not much to worry

I guess they might get logged if you log the boot proces,
there's some
more on that in /etc/rc or /etc/conf.d/rc. Also if you boot
interactively (holding I if your baselayout supports it) You
will
probably get the time to carefully read the messages.

My guess is this is caused by a command involving modules,
perhaps an
installed package. I once had virtual installs with
monolithic (no
modules) kernels, in which the 'problem' occured in ttylinux
or
something, but not in Gentoo.
