bttv options

Where do I setup the options for the bttv module?

I need to set the card=40 and tuner =6, no matter what I try
I still get:

>From the above, you can see that bttv is loaded with
"card=0 and tuner=-1"
I've tried setting in  /etc/modules.d/aliases as

alias char-major-81    bttv
options bttv  card=40 tuner=6
options tuner           type=6

This does not seem to have an affect. Is there some docs
that show the
proper way of doing this in Gentoo?

I created a file "bttv" in /etc/modules.d/ and
placed the following
within it:

alias char-major-81    bttv
options bttv  card=40 tuner=6

This did the trick : )
