help please

I am stuck. I am trying to create geotiff files to act as
input for 
MapServer. I have tried using gdal_warp to translate modis
level 1b data to 
geotiffs, but the output files do not make much sense. Is
there a step by 
step explanation how to create the geotiffs?

Are Modis level 1B data mapped?
You may need to use seadas or something to
map the data.
