converting/exporting to .pict (macintosh) format

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is it possible to export pictures
from GIMP to .pict format on the Win XP version?

Someone recommended GIMP to me as an alternative to Photoshop
Elements, (which i was intending to buy for exactly that feature), and
my first impressions are good, it looks like a really good program,
but i can't find anyway of exporting to .pict which is what i really
need!

Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully recieved,
