In most cases what you find at the plug-in registry is source code. If

you don't know what to do with it, you shouldn't bother trying. 



If some plug-in offered there explicitly is provided as a Windows

version, just download the .exe file in question and put it into your

GIMP installation's lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins folder.
