Here's a thought. I have a Wacom pad installed. I merely installed it and th drivers, but made no particular chnages in Gimp to use it. Though I remember it working at one point, because I showed my son how the pen makes the brush make a line.
Is it possible, that there are settings that make my regular mouse not work? When I get home I will see if the Wacom mouse of the stylus actually work any of the tools.
