I don't know about gimp, but there is an eps add-in codec for the free Irfanview
I would imagine that there is a conversion facility within that

Subject: [gimpwin-users] CMYK vs RGB for colour
Hello!
I have a colour image as an .eps file in colour. I'm
not sure what type of colour it is. I need it to be
CMYK. Does anyone know how to find out whether my
image is CMYK or RGB, and whether it is possible to
change between the two using Gimp?
Thanks very much!
Catherine
