I have an e-mail first.lastname and I received email to
firstlastname.
Just tested it again - still does it.  Guess I better get
both.

the problem is not that you do recieve email there... that's
the way
it's meant to be, and we love gmail for it

the problem is that early in the gmail launch phase, someone
could
register with firstlastname even though you already had
first.lastname
and then both of you would recieve both their email and the
other
person's email
