never said it was far fetched, i said it was unlikely. he also made a persistent searchse script, a conversation preview script, and a label coloring script and they haven't adopted any of those features.

well I speculated that due the simple fact that gmail and reader are both from google....

and uhhhhh

since the guy that did the reader one also wrote a script for gmail

it wouldn't be that far fetched for gmail to also roll it out.

I don't think its that far fetched for some one on the gmail team to check out the reader and/or take note of the script that his fellow employee made and notice the ease of the feature and either do it him/her self or ask him to do it (mayhaps on his 20% time?)...

how is that so far fetched? as a matter of fact, I would think it would be highly likely... are you really going to sit there and tell me its far fetched?

I can be just as stubborn ;)

well you speculated that they would make it a standard thing in gmail and i was just informing you that it's not that likely since he's not on that team

he mentioned the script in the first message, and the guy who made that script isn't on the gmail team, he's on the reader team, which is why the reader one was hardcoded

there is a grease monkey script that does this for gmail already if you are interested.

it was actually developed by a guy who currently works at google right now... so maybe in the non too distant future they will make it a standardized thing.

I actually use it right now, and when I use a browser without that script for gmail I feel lost.
