Copy IMAP folder contents

Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but I'm trying to copy,
convert or
save the mail contents of one of my IMAP folders to GMAIL. 
I'm using
and viewing my IMAP mail using Evolution on Linux (SLED 10).

I would appreciate any help or point me to a previous thread
if this
matter has already been discussed.

Nothing I have heard about except forwarding everything.
Ugly, sorry.

I'm not sure a feature request will help so far, as this
would mean far
more people would use  Gmail as a repository for anything,
and fill
their 2.7 Gb allowance. (Word is that Google can't cope if
every user
fills it up; I don't know.)
