I think your suggestions are great, but I wondered if you
were aware of
Firefox 2. The latest version of this great browser has a
spell check
feature that works for all web forms, which includes the
fields you are
filling in when you write email with Gmail. It won't correct
misspellings automatically, but it does provide the slight
red
underline for words not recognized. Basically you see your
misspellings
as you type them. It's better than what gmail has but not
quite to the
level of what you are talking about.
I agree with your suggestion though, and agree it would be
great to
have more robust spell checking built in, but checkout
Firefox 2. It's
a good improvement over what they have now.
