Ordering by subject line

No, there is no way to sort anything, anywhere within GMail.
 This is
inline with their mantra, "Search don't sort". 
With effective
searching I can eliminate over 200 spam e-mails as not being
false
positives in under 3 minutes, leaving under 10 generally to
look at
more closely.

You can kind of do a sort by creating a filter that uses
your desired
sort criteria, then applying this filter to your existing
e-mails.
It's actually fairly effective, though requires an extra
step.
