    First off, have you tried accessing your account from a different computer? That would let you know if the computer is on your end or Google';s.

Second off,
What OS, browser and eventually extensions are you using?
Have you tried using a different browser?
Are you familiar with the Advanced options menu of your
browsers?

Also,
Are you positive these message contained original content?
Do you see any link to un-collapse the text of the previous
message in 
a response?
