GMail does send detected spam directly to the Spam label,
but it has
to detect it.
Spammers are constantly adapting and changing the way they
send spam,
so you have to make sure your filters are keeping up. GMail
uses
Bayesian, learning, filters. You have to click "Report
Spam" on each
one that makes it through, and "Not Spam" on any
that aren't spam but
go there. This will teach the filter what the current
techniques are,
and eventually they'll all get caught again (till the
spammers change
enough to fool it again).
