Notification when contact receives email?

Is there any way to get a notification so that you can see
when
someone has read the email you sent them?

Only by asking them to send you a message telling you that
they read
it.  Any other automated methods you've seen in the past
(like Read
Receipts in Oulook) is based on underlying technology which
is not
universally available, so it will often fail.
