Hi,


I am not able to recieve standard view while logging into
gmail
account and have to log in html view.
I am using proxy for distributing my net connection in the
network
which passes through ISA Server configured on it. I have
cleared all
history, cache, private data but still not able to solve the
problem.
Can anyone of you suggest  what steps can be taken to solve
the
problem.

    Hi Vicky,

Are U using dial up?  I have dial up with an accelerator and adding the accelerator was within the last two weeks.

Another member checked both "standard" and "basic" as he is able to access both. ; I do not know if he has an accelerator or not but I assume that he does since when I have my accelerator off, then I automatically get "standard" since with "basic" I received a window saying that it may take a while so I might want to use "basic".  I said that I have waited perhaps 5-minutes and still no access.  He said that that is really strange and asked me if I have an accelerator as sometimes accelerators slow down the system.


I have found out that I am better off without the accelerator for normal usage but the accelerator speeds me up normally between 2 and 3 times for downloads and perhaps uploads.

I have emailed a friend as to my thoughts on why that is but he does not access email that often as many people do not.


Rather quickly I get "standard" as I not start off with my accelerator off.

Oddly, the last two time that I called my ISP, and not on hold I got disconnected.  I have emailed two of their email address and got back that there is no such email address.


Other than a few friends who have wireless, I have only mentioned this here as others get the same problem.

Your second sentence I know nothing about.

Your third sentence was a suggestion due to other problems with a website and they suggested these steps but they have not helped me.  Fortunately, the issues that I have with their website are only reference information.  I contacted two of their departments.  One said the web site administration knows of no problems but that is not surprising since their are many bugs in software that it takes a long time before people notice them.

    Assuming you're using Internet Explorer or Firefox, I would suspect that the proxy is reporting something to Gmail which is making it think you don't have a supported browser. Is it possible for you to connect directly (avoiding the proxy), just to test if that's the cause?
