How can I forward a sent e-mail that has attachments without duplicating the attachmen

When I tried to forward a message that has 2 attachments,
gmail seems
to want to send the attachments out twice.  I've tried using
the
"Forward all" link to the right, and
(alternatively) the "forward"
link at the bottom edge of the original sent e-mail. 
Confused!
