Just to return to the original topic, my gmail has been
acting very
strange. Emails sent to me are not arriving until roughly
15 hours
after they were sent. (Is this related to what MarciaBR was
saying?)
This is through logging on to my gmail account on the web,
when I've
sent stuff to myself from work, and the emails don't turn up
in my
inbox until the next day.

I'm quite new to gmail, but this doesn't really feel
normal...?

E-mail can, on occasion, take very long periods for a number
of
different reasons. The problem could be in Google's
network, in the
other ISPs network, or in the Tier I internet between them.
It's not
a guaranteed delivery time protocol, so it has a lot of
delays built
into it when it encounters a problem.

If it's happening consistently, and it sounds like it is,
then you
should report it to Google through the bug report screens.
This way
they're aware of it, and if the problem is theirs, they can
repair it.
As with all other cases, expect only an automated e-mail
from your
report, but understand that it will be looked at by a human.
 If you
insist on human contact, reply to the automated message.
I'm told
you'll eventually get a human response, but it can take
days. I've
never bothered and contented with the automated response,
and always
had the problem taken care of in under 24 hours.
