Thread: Port Forwarding on port 995

Port Forwarding on port 995

I have just installed a DI-524 Router and it works just fine
with one
exception:

I connect to the internet through a firewall - the router's
firewall.
It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. For some reason,
the port
995 is in use.. I guess.
Fact is that if I stick the WAN cable directly into my
computer, I can
use the 995 port. When I stick it back into the router and I
connect
my computer to the router's network, SMTP port 465 works
perfectly
(without priorly changing any of the router's settings), but
POP port
995 fails to connect.

You would ask yourself: "Why use a router when you can
connect your
computer directly to the WAN?" and I would say:
"Because I have 2
computers and both must be connected to the Internet "

I have tried to "virtual server" my problem, but
manual port
forwarding also didn't help.

Is there any hidden router setting that you guys have come
across in
your experience? Or is there another port I can use? An
alternative to
port 995?

I cannot download my emails on my computer and I'm
desperate!!!

Thank you,
Stef

There must be a way to configure the router';s firewall,  and if not, just disable  it and use your computer's firewall. That's my setup.
