deleted gmail account

Ive cancelled one of my gmail accounts but now i want that
username
back. Is there a way for me to get it back? Ive heard
somewhere that
they might recycle deleted usernames after some time.
Anybody knows
something more about it?

deleted, we can't
guarantee that your username will be made available
again."
