Gmail

Since GMail is a Web Application, it's not the OS that it
needs to
support, it's the browser.

I'm reasonably sure her browser is going to be IE7 unless
she's
installed another, since that's the default in Vista (or any
Windows
OS).

She's trying to create a URL shortcut on her desktop, which
Vista's
security may be preventing her from doing (remembering the
Mac
commercial about Vista's security).  She should consult with
her tech
support to figure out why she can't seem to create this URL
shortcut.
