Last week I logged into Gmail as usual and it said user id
and
password dont match. I entered about 20 of those nonsense
words (what
good was that?) and then I checked out the "I forgot
my password" and
it said something about not logging in for 5 days. I forgot
what
happens after 5 days, so now I have to log in again and wait
5 days
from now? What's the genius behind this process?
Why am I suddenly unable to log in?
Why isnt there someone to ask about my account?

The delay is to prevent hacking of your account. If no one
has
successfully logged into the account for 5 days then using
"I forgot
my password" will send reset instructions to your
alternate e-mail you
have on file. If the account is being logged into, then
either you're
trying to hack it, or it has been hacked. In the GMail help
pages
there is a link to report a compromised account. If you
can't get in,
and it's been more than 5 days since you HAVE gotten in, and
it still
says to wait 5 days, you've been compromised and should
report it at
that link.

i had the same, once with a mistake in the password, once with a mistake in the identifier, just typing free space or majuscule instead minuscule, so i have a small paper where i wrote simply the identifier and the password, because 5 days ... i forgot allways !
have a good day !

You will be recieving the email with your password at the
email
address you typed as your secondary when you signed up. If
your
current secondary email is different than that one, check
your
previous secondary email. If that is not the case, the
message might
have been caught by the spam filters.
