This exact thing happened to me a few days ago. First it
was the
letter "r" and then it was he letter
"o". When I created the e-mail,
it was fine. But later when my friend replied with a
"huh?" I
checked my sent box and it was screwed up there...so Im
pretty sure it
is a gmail problem. I am also a MAC user and therefore I
know it
isnt virus related. The one thing I considered tis that I
am running
the latest Safari beta. So I thought that somehow since
gmail works
by capturing key events, that my browser is screwing it up.
What
browser are you using? I have also noted that g-mail has
been taking
a looooong time to send e-mail sometimes but this may be a
separate
issue as it started before the browser change or the missing
letters.
Well, if you have any ideas or find the solution to this
bizarre
problem, please share.

You might be on the right track. Those are keyboard shortcuts built into Gmail (r is reply, o is open). See what happens if you use Camino/FF.
Sorry I didn't see your message, Burt.

| You have described exactly the same symptoms and conditions that I have experienced.
I am also running Safari 3 beta on a MAC. Gmail also can take along time to send an email; but I have attributed that to the large attachments that I typically include.
I have noticed that the missing letters typically will occur when replying to a email with multiple threads of previous emails imbedded into the body.
Maybe we should report this to Apple as a bug in Safari 3 beta.
