Hello ALL,
and a Question to all (Especially Zak)
How to?
Forward / Tell / Suggest / to Gmail
I am hearing or shall I say reading this advice a lot ...
(( Forward / Tell / Suggest / to Gmail .... ))
- - - > What is the proper & practical approach to
convey a suggestion
to GMail? < - - -
Is it proper to just give a very brief explanation?
Just for example:
"Option Gmail do my laundry"
Or a detailed explanation of my suggestion!
For example .......
elaborate my idea
"
Option to integrate (Gmail Laundry) to my Gmail account
The main function of laundry is:
during a preset time farm
1) By first use a biodegradable detergent and checking that
the
pockets are emptied of all its contents
1) 1) from sharp objects....
etc
"
()
The idea as I mentioned is to convey the idea in clear and
understandable way so they would understand what we are
saying to
them. (Speak their language)

IMHO, I say, if it's in the click list (Do my laundry), then
just
click the box. It would seem they are thinking of doing
this already
and might have an idea of how, so they're simply looking if
it's a
good idea for most people.
If it's not, then be as descriptive as possible:
"I need my whites and colors separated, with the whites
in hot water,
and non-cotton colors on medium" This not only
expresses the desire,
but helps drive suggestions on how to do it. I did this
with Contact
Groups suggestion when they weren't available, and weren't
on the
click list, and it's implemented nearly exactly like I
suggested (not
meaning it's all on me, I've had suggestions ignored like
the rest,
but it seems others suggested the same, so that's how it
was
implemented).
This is of course, my opinion, yours has as much value as
mine, and
your mileage is almost guaranteed to vary.

As usual, straight to the point and very much enlightening!
Thanks a lot.
Knowing - or in my case seeking to know - how to approach
other
individuals the correct
way is part of result you may receive.
So I guess it would be a hard work (but hopefully with) and
measurable
results.
I think I'll use the second option...
Just a thought!
However I still wish if it is possible to share what I
forward to
Google in general and Gmail in
particular in the suggest page with others.
If they just add that "CC box" and send a copy to
my email, I've
suggested!
The (CC'ed) user I included can review it then add to it,
amend it and
forwarded to Gmail again - or simply ignore it,

It's not uncommon to see suggestions posted in here before
or after
they are suggested to Google. At times there are a lot of
agreements,
other times debate, and rarely abuse (the mods try to
minimize the
permitted abuse).
Feel free to share your suggestions here and perhaps even
discuss
before posting. Might have you change your idea of how to
suggest
your idea.

I don't know where this should go, but it's a suggestion for
gmail so
here it is. I use the gmail notifier and I get a lot of
short emails
that I'm able to read just from the pop up from the gmail
notifier.
But they're still marked as unread in my inbox, since I
haven't
officially read them. I'd like a menu option when you right
click the
gmail notifier to 'Mark all as read'.
It would make things easier for me.

We're just a user group and nobody from Google officially reads this, so you'll probably have better luck by suggesting you idea at
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=suggest
However, if you get Linux the excellent CheckGmail program already has this. ;)

Hello,
An addition, as I recall a member (ZAK) of this group
mentioned in
very simple way.
Post your:
Idea(s) to something new you discovered doing with Gmail,
Suggestion(s) for new feature or features, - this suggestion
will be
discussed and maybe someone
beside you will find it practical or like it and eventually
he / she
will suggest it to Gmail development
Team, and maybe if they - Gmail Team - see it applicable and
in demand
they may
implement it sooner then we think,
Bug(s) the members - guys and girls - in this group will for
sure help
you (and each other) to
distinguish if it is a setting conflict or just a bug - if
it is a bug
they'll advise you where to report it.
This is just a general info, and I hope it'll be useful in
future
