Problem recieving all message to additional e-mail address

I am in need of urgent help.
 
I have my gmail e-mail set to go to my inbox as well as to an alternative e-mail address, and while I am receiving some mail to the alternative e-mail address, I am not receiving all, which creates a couple of problems for me:
 
1. I am not receiving all mail to the alternative address.
 
2. In my gmail inbox, I am receiving messages that say that delivery to my alternative address was a "failure."
 
I signed in to gmail, went to "settings", "forwarding and pop", and the "disable forwarding" box is unchecked, and the box just below that is checked, so I am not sure what the problem is or what I need to do to correct it.
 
Any assistance I can get on this matter would be grately appreciated, because this is turning in to a real problem.

It could be that the alternate email service is rejecting emails which get sent too rapidly from the same address (as a form of spam protection). You may want to talk to whoever is providing the service to see if that's the case and if it can be disabled for you.

The messages in your GMail inbox that say that delivery was
a failure
should explain what the problem was.  Also, these messages
won't be
forwarded, since they essentially came from that e-mail.
