Finding an email source

I received an email from someone with a gmail account. 
Although I
assume there is no way for me to find out the true identify
of the
sender, I am trying to figure out if the email was spam or
was
intended for me personally.  It was a very disturbing email.
 If I was
even able to find out what state it was sent from, at least
that would
help.  Any ideas?

If it was truly sent by a GMail user, and it's threatening,
you should
report them to Google:
I've received a message that violates the Gmail Terms of Use
or
Program Policies.
